Archos FamilyPad 2 Android 13.3 InchTablet Launches

Today via Facebook Archos has announced the launch of their new Archos FamilyPad 2 Android tablet which comes fitted with a 13.3 inch screen supporting 10 point multi-touch input, and sports a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The new Archos FamilyPad 2 comes supplied running Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and is powered by a Dual-core A9 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, supported by 1GB of RAM and Quad-core GPU Mali 400 MP4 graphics.


The  Archos FamilyPad 2 is fitted with 8GB of storage which can be expanded via the use of microSD cards up to a maximum of 64GB, and features a 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, together with a 2 megapixel rear facing for video and photographs. Archos explains:
“The ARCHOS FamilyPad 2 is powered by a fast Dual-core processor combined with a powerful quad-core graphics processor, plenty of processing power that means that Android is smoother, your apps open faster and internet browsing is more fluid than ever. 
Because it’s got a mini-HDMI port, you can plug the ARCHOS FamilyPad 2 into your HDTV to experience the complete Android™ interface on your TV. Great for watching videos or sharing that gaming session on the big screen. The ARCHOS FamilyPad 2 also has a microSD card slot to boost storage as well as USB Host to transfer data from a USB flash or hard drive.”

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 In Action

Samsung recently announced their latest Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, and now we have a video of the Galaxy Note 8.0 in action which shows of the devices design and features.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 features an 8 inch WXGA display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and it will come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, it also features Samsung’s S-Pen stylus.


Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 include a 1.9GHz quad core A9 processor and 2GB of RAM, it will be available with a choice of either 16GB or 32GB of built in storage and it also features a microSD card slot which can take up to 64GB cards.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 features dual cameras with a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat and a rear facing 5 megapixel camera for photos and video, plus 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0.

Alcatel One Touch Snap Smartphones Unveiled At MWC

As well as unveiling their Alcatel One Touch Idol X smartphone at this years Mobile World Congress (MWC) exhibition, Alcatel has also been showcasing their new range of Alcatel One Touch Snap smartphones.
The Alcatel One Touch Snap range consist of a Alcatel One Touch Snap and Alcatel One Touch Snap LTE smartphone. The pair of devices support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4 and quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900). However there are a number of differences between the two devices.







The Alcatel One Touch Snap smartphone is fitted with 4.5” display with qHD resolution, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs Google’s latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, with 4GB of storage, and an 8 megapixel camera on he rear and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front.
The Alcatel One Touch Snap LTE smartphone runs Google’s latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and is equipped with a 4.65” larger but lower resolution FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display, with a 2 megapixel camera and 2,200 mAh battery, and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU
The Alcatel One Touch Snap and Snap LTE are expected to start shipping in April and July 2013, respectively, but unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by Alcatel.

PowerSkin Silicone Battery Case for iPhone 5 Ships


The problem with most battery cases or external batteries for the iPhone 5 is that they add significant bulk to the svelte smartphone. PowerSkin has announced that it is now shipping its PowerSkin for Apple iPhone 5 battery case. The case is available for $79.99



The company says that this is the thinnest case it has ever designed adding only 0.3-inches of thickness to the phone. Despite being thin, the internal battery has 1500 mAh of power promising an additional 6.5 hours of talk time. That battery will also extend your Wi-Fi usage by up to eight hours and standby time by up to 182 hours.
The case measures 2.5 x 0.65 x 5.1-inches. That’s thin enough that you should barely know the silicone case is installed on your iPhone 5. The case weighs 0.18 pounds and will begin charging your iPhone 5 at the press of a button
