Jony Ive Designed Leica M Raised $1.8 Million At Auction

Back in September of last year Leica announced Jony Ive and Marc Newson would be designing a one off Leica M camera that would be auctioned off for charity.
In October the final design for the camera was unveiled revealing a rounded, clean and stylish design as you would expect. It was expected to raise between $500,000 – $750,000 for the RED charity but has amazingly raised $1.8 million in Yorkshire which was held at Sotheby’s on November 23rd 2013


To re-cap the custom made camera made by Jony Ive and Marc Newson for the (RED) Auction 2013. Edition 01/01 included a magnesium die-cast body chassis and milled and anodised aluminium outer shell. During the design process the pair spent 85 days creating over 1000 prototypes and 561 models to style and design a unique Lecia special edition camera.



The Jony Ive Lecia M lens offered a Max. f-stop: 2.0 / focal length: 50mm / based on LEICA APO-SUMMICRON-M 1:2/50mm ASPH with a fixed focal length and program modes include aperture priority mode and manual setting mode.
The charity auction has been held to help raise money for The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In Total The (RED) auction at Sotheby’s raised a massive $26.2 million. A Red Mac Pro was also auction off raising $977,000




Lenovo Flex 10 Notebook Unveiled With Flip Back Screen

Lenovo have this week launched a new laptop in the form of the Lenovo Flex 10 which comes running Microsoft’s latest Windows 8.1 operating system.
A unique feature of the Lenovo Flex 10 laptop allows you to reverse the keyboard, with the keys facing down on the desktop and the screen in a tilted position allowing you to use it as a presentation or media viewing screen when required.




The Lenovo Flex 10 laptop is powered by a choice of four processors: the quad core Intel Pentium N3510, the quad core Celeron N2910, the dual core Celeron N2810 or the dual core Celeron N2805 with integrated graphics.
Its fitted with a 10.1 inch screen offering a 1366 x 768 resolution and the Pentium models can support up to 4GB DDR3L, and the Celeron models up to 2 GB DDR3L.
Other fathers of the Lenovo Flex 10 include HDMI output, 500GB of storage, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 1 x USB 2.0 port, together with Wireless N and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
Its thought the system might start around $560 but unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability for the Lenovo Flex 10 has been released as yet by Lenovo, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always. For more information on the new Lenovo Flex 10 specifications jump over to the Lenovo website for details.





Gold HTC One Appears On Online Store

HTC already released a gold HTC One, although the first one was a special edition handset made for the Mobo awards and it was actually made from Gold.
Now it would appear that HTC will release a gold colored HTC One smartphone, and the handset has now appeared on an online store in Finland, and HTC had just made the device official.

 The HTC One is already available in black, silver, red and blue, and now it would appear that HTC is launching a gold HTC One, the device will feature the same specifications as the existing model.

The HTC One was first launched back in March, the handset features Android Jelly Bean and it comes with a 4.7 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Other specifications on the HTC ne include a quad core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor from Qualcomm and 2GB of RAM, it also comes with a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of storage, there is no microSD card slot.

The handset features HTC’s Ultrapixel camera which is essentially a 4 megapixel camera that can record full HD video in 1080p, the device also comes with a 2.1 megapixel camera on the front for video chat.

As yet there are no details on when HTC will launch the gold colored HTC One in other countries, HTC says it will be launched in a number of European countries,

Microsoft Xbox One Console Supports Logitech Harmony Remote Controllers

If you have just purchased or are thinking of purchasing a new next-generation Microsoft Xbox One games console, you might be interested to know that Logitech has today announced the new Microsoft console supports Logitech Harmony remote controllers.
Logitech have explained over the weekend that they have been working with Microsoft to make sure their range of remote controls are compatible from launch.


Allowing you to control your new Xbox One as well as other home entertainment devices via one remote. All you need to do to set your new Microsoft Xbox One games console to connect to remote control is jump over to the Logitech My Harmony website and add it as a supported device.
