Samsung Galaxy W 7 Inch Smartphone Announced

We have been hearing rumors that Samsung would be launching a new 7 inch smartphone, the device was thought to be the Samsung Galaxy Mega, although Samsung has now announced it as the Samsung Galaxy W.
The Samsung Galaxy W comes with a 7 inch display that has a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the device is powered by a quad core processor with a clock speed of 1.2Ghz.

Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy W include 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, the handset will come with Android 4.3.
The Samsung Galaxy W also comes with LTE-A and features a 2 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera.
Samsung will launch the Samsung Galaxy W in South Korea, the device will retail for around 499,400 won which is around $490, and it features a faux leather casing like the note 3 and comes in red, white and black.
As yet there are no details on when Samsung will launch the Galaxy W outside of South Korea, the company could possibly launch the device as the Galaxy Mega that we heard previously.
As soon as we get some more information on whether Samsung will launch the Galaxy W in the US and Europe, we will let you guys know.

More Details Surface On Apple Home Automation Plans

Apple kicks off their Worldwide Developer Conference today, and Apple’s CEO TIM Cook will hold the Apple Keynote later today, and we are expecting to find out more information about the Apple Home Automation plans.
According to a recent report, Apple will announce a Smart Home toolkit at WWDC 2014, that developers will be able to use for their applications.

We previously heard that the Apple Home Automation plans will include a central home controller for controlling various things around your home.
Apple will also take the wraps of their new Health Tracking app, which we previously heard will be called HealthBook, the app is rumored to initially use third part devices for data tracking, and then the iPhone 6 and the Apple iWatch when they launch later in the year.
We are also expecting to hear about the next version of Apple’s mobile OS, Apple iOS and are expecting Apple to release a developer preview of iOS 8.
OS X is also expected to feature heavily at WWDC and Apple are expected to unveil OS X 10.10, which is said to come with a range of new features and updates.
The Apple WWDC 2014 kicks off at 10AM Pacific Time, 1PM ET, and 6PM UK time, we will have full details on what Apple plans to announce later today, and hopefully some more details on exactly what the Apple home automation plans are.

Denon Heos Wireless Speaker System Unveiled To Compete With Sonos

Denon has created a new multiroom wireless speaker system called the Denon Heos, that it hopes will allow Denon to compete with the already established and market leader Sonos.
The new Denon Heos wireless speaker system consists of three wireless speakers in the range, that offer different sizes and price points to suit your music, audio and financial requirements.

Denon has designed their new Heos wireless speaker system to communicate over your home wireless network, providing easy access to cloud services as well as network attached storage devices that may already be linked to your home network.

Denon has also created a Heos companion application for both iOS and Android devices enabling you to control the system via your smartphone. The Denon Heos wireless speaker system also allows access to existing streaming applications, but at the present time Denon hasn’t announced which music applications are supported.
Denon has also unveiled their Denon Heos Extend device that has been specifically designed for larger homes or those with a poor wireless range or connectivity. Enabling you to boost the connectivity throughout your Denon Heos system.

Although Denon hasn’t announced specific prices or availability for their new range of Denon Heos speakers the company has explained that the speakers will start at around $300 with the largest and top of the range speaker costing $600. Putting the mid ranged Denon Heos speaker somewhere in the $400 price bracket. As more information is released by Denon regards availability and specific prices we will keep you updated as always.

Cat B15Q Rugged Kit Kat Smartphone Announced

We have seen a number of these rugged smartphones from Cat before, although their latest one, the Cat B15Q is their first device to come with Android 4.4 Kit Kat.
The Cat B15Q is designed to be a rugged Android smartphone, and it comes a 4 inch display that has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

This rugged Android device is powered by a quad core 1.2Ghz MediaTek processor, and it features 1GB of RAM and 4GB of built in storage, there is also a microSD card slot for expansion that takes up to 64GB cards.
The Cat B15Q features a front facing VGA camera and a rear facing 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and an LED flash, it also comes with 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2,000 mAh battery.




The device is designed to withstand knocks and bumps and it conforms to the 810G military standard, it is also waterproof and features IP67 certification, which means it can be placed in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, and the display also comes with ‘Wet Finger Tracking’.
The Cat B15Q rugged Android Kit Kat handset will go on sale in the UK in July, the handset will retail for £299 when it launches, this price is for the SIM free version of the device, without the need for a contract.
