No Glasses 3D Tablet Unveiled by Hammacher Schlemmer

There are plenty of companies in the gadget world that are well known for making some very strange gear. Hamamcher Schlemmer is one of those companies. The latest product that Hammacher has announced isn’t strange, rather it’s quite common. It’s a tablet with an interesting feature called The No Glasses 3D Tablet.

As the name implies, the big feature here is that the tablet can show 3D images without you having to wear glasses of any sort. The tablet is able to do that by showing different images to each eye. The screen of the tablet measures 8-inches and features a parallax barrier placed on top. The native resolution is 1280 x 800.
The tablet has 16GB of integrated storage and supports SDHC cards up to 32GB for storage expansion. The tablet is able to turn 2D content into 3D content on the fly. The internal battery is good for up to 7 hours of use per charge and the tablet has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front. The tablet will sell for $349.99 and won’t ship until December 30. That means if someone on your Christmas list wants a tablet, this one will ship too late.

New Tesco Hudl 2 Tablet Launcing In 2014

UK supermarket Tesco launched their first own branded Android tablet back in September, the company sold 35,000 tablets in the first few days and now they have announced that they have sold a total of 300,000 Hudl tablets since launch.
The company has plans to release a new updated Tesco Hudl 2 tablet in 2014, and Tesco’s CEO, Philip Clark, told the Guardian that “The new model will be an enhanced version,”, he did not reveal any specifications on the device.

The Tesco Hudl tablet retails for £119 in the UK, and it is obviously a hit with UK consumers, considering that the company has managed to sell 300,000 units of the device in just a couple of months.
Tesco can obviously see other potential for own branded electronics in the UK, and the company may be looking into other Tesco branded devices in the future.
Considering that Tesco offers their own mobile network, which is run by O2 for the company, we would not be surprised if they decide to release a Tesco branded smartphone in the future, and suspect it would also be a budget device like the Hudl tablet.

10Watt PowerPot X Charges Your Devices And Cooks Your Food

If you enjoy walking or Camping you might be interested in a new device which has been created to help keep your devices charged at while you are away from the grid, in the form of the new PowerPot X charger.
The PowerPot X charger is the invention of David Toledo who has created it to provide 10 Watts of power to make sure your devices are fully charged and ready to use whenever you are away from civilisation. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the PowerPot X charger project and see it in action.

The original PowerPot launched on Kickstarter back in 2012 and now the design has been refined to create the PowerPot X. David explains a little note on how the technology has advanced.
The new, lightweight PowerPot X series marks the next stage in thermoelectric power generation. Our patented design is more efficient and produces more power than ANY thermoelectric generator on the market. Its larger size makes it more practical for preparing meals. The PowerPot X provides a full 10 watts of max output. Even under mediocre conditions, it produces 5 watts, giving you ample power for charging any device.
The 10 Watts of power enables you to charge a tablet, 2 x smartphones (at the same time) or 4 x GoPro cameras (at the same time). The PowerPot X charger project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think the PowerPot X charger is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help the PowerPot X charger become a reality.

Lumus DK-40 Augment Reality Glasses Unveiled Ahead Of CES 2014

Lumus has this week unveiled their new wearable Lumus DK-40 glasses which have been designed to offer users an impressive 640 x 480 display, allowing developers designing Android applications for the Lumus DK-40 to overlay messages in the  real world right in front of the wearer, rather than on a side screen such as Google Glass does.
Lumus is well know for creating augment reality heads-up-displays HUD for the military and has patented a “Light-guide Optical Element” (LOE) technology which takes the form of a small projector that displays an image on the special lens allowing the computer generated imagery to be transparent to the user.

Unfortunately the Lumus DK-40 glasses are more of a teaser than a commercial product and Lumus is looking to market their technology to other manufacturers to use in their products, rather than sell it commercially themselves. Although Lumus is planning to start shipping the DK-40 monocular developer kits towards the end of Q1 2014, Lumus explains it will only be offered to OEMs and “select developers” at the current time.
More information about the new Lumus DK-40 glasses is expected to be released at the upcoming CES 2014 technology show taking place in January. As soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
