Kodak Pixpro Smartphone Lens Cameras Launching Spring 2014

The Kodak Pixpro smartphone lens camera will compete with the already available Sony Cyber-shot QX10 and QX100 smartphone lens camera attachments that launched late last year. As well as the new Vivitar IU680 smartphone interchangeable lens camera system we featured yesterday and is also expected to launch later this year.


The new Kodak Pixpro smartphone lens camera attachments take the form of the Kodak SL10 and SL25 designed to be attached to Android and iOS smartphones.Both smartphone lens camera attachments connect to companion applications to be controlled from the smartphone touchscreen and offer impressive zoom features.

The Kodak SL10 offers a 10x optical zoom rate and features a 28 – 280mm wide-angle lens, and the Kodak SL25 offers a 25x optical zoom and a 24mm wide-angle lens. Kodak explains:

“With the introduction of the brand new KODAK PIXPRO SMART LENS® camera models SL10 and SL25, consumers now have a viable option to outfit their existing iOS or ANDROID smartphones with a snap on lens boasting powerful 10x or 25x optical zoom.

The SMART LENS® Camera is also wireless for added flexibility and can be controlled via a free app. Features on the SL10 ($199 MSRP) include 10x optical zoom, 1080p video, 28-280mm wide angle lens, optical image stabilization (OIS), a micro SD card and compatibility with iOS/ANDROID phones. The SL25 ($299 MSRP) adds 25x optical zoom and a 24mm ultra-wide-angle lens. The SMART LENS® devices will be available in spring 2014.”

Qube 2 Bluetooth Speaker Is Tiny But Promises Big Sound

Matrix Audio has announced a new portable Bluetooth speaker that is impressively small. The speaker is called the Qube 2. It is sized to slip into a pocket and has a strap for carrying on your wrist as well. The speaker has an aluminum enclosure and integrated tech to make the bass deeper.


The bass deepening tech is called passive vibrating bass technology. The portable speaker has an internal battery good for up to eight hours of playback per charge. The speaker is also very light weighing in at 185 grams despite having a battery large enough to run for eight hours per charge.
Inside the little aluminum enclosure are a pair of 3 watt speakers to deliver stereo sound. Matrix says those two speakers make the Qube 2 the world’s smallest stereo speaker. The device has a Bluetooth range of up to 30 feet and a carry pouch is included. The speaker measures 80mm x 38mm x 38mm. The Qube 2 is available in red, black, silver, blue, and purple colros. All colors are available now for $79.99 each
