Oppo R819 Smartphone Unveiled Offering Customs ROMs And More

Oppo has this week added a new addition to their range of smartphones, in the form of the newly launched Oppo R819 smartphone.
The Oppo R819 smartphone will come supplied with Oppo’s own custom default ROM but will soon receive the ability to benefit from a new ‘Color’ ROM.


Oppo says the new ‘Color’ ROM will offer a fresh take on Android that was developed with OPPO fans in mind, but if you prefer Oppo will also offer stock Android 4.2.1 ROMs as well.
The Oppo R819 smartphone is fitted with a 4.7 inch 720p IPS display that is powered by a 1.2GHz MT6589 quad-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage for files and media.
Other features of the Oppo R819 include Dual SIM support, FM radio, DLNA, a 2000 mAh battery and 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, together with a 8 megapixel rear facing for video and photographs. The Oppo R819 weighs just 110 grams and measure just 7.3 mm thick.
The Oppo R819 is now available to pre-order or €269 in Europe and $349 in the US and will start shipping sometime in September.

VIRB and VIRB Elite Garmin Action Cameras Unveiled

Garmin has today launched new additions to its range of Garmin action cameras in form of the new Garmin VIRB and VIRB Elite action cameras.
The Garmin VIRB will be arriving in stores during September priced at $300 and the VIRB Elite for $400. Both Garmin action cameras comes with a range of mounts, including handlebar, helmet, suction-cup, and a standard tripod adapter.



If you intend to use multiple Garmin action cameras to film your exploits he ANT+ technology included in the VIRB or VIRB Elite cameras allows you to controlled them all with a single, master camera. The Garmin action camera VIRB Elite is equipped with integrated WiFi and a high-sensitivity GPS sensor, and also features a Ski Mode that can differentiate between going up a ski lift and down the actual mountain. Both are fitted with microSD card slots that support cards up to 64GB in size,a nd each 64GB card with the Garmin action cameras can hold in excess of seven hours of 1080p footage, Garmin claims.

ZTE Firefox Mobile OS Smartphones Sold Out On eBay

The new ZTE smartphone running Firefox mobile OS has already sold out over on eBay after launching earlier this month to users in both the US and UK.
By the beginning of this week both the US and UK eBay stores were sold out and the unlocked ZTE smartphone running Mozilla new Firefox mobile OS is now now longer available until a new production run is generated.


Originally the new ZTE smartphone running Mozilla new Firefox mobile OS launched first in Spain on the Telefónica mobile phone network and also Venezuela and Colombia back in July. Mozilla explains a little more about the first smartphone to run their Firefox mobile OS.
“Targeted at the first time smartphone user, Firefox OS smartphones are the first devices powered completely by Web technologies,”-”Users get the performance, personalization and price they want in a smartphone packaged in a beautiful, clean, intuitive and easy-to-use experience.”
To re-cap the new Firefox mobile OS smartphone created by ZTE is fitted with a 3.5 inch multi-touch screen with a 480 x 320 resolution and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 single-core SoC processor clocked at 1 GHz supported by 256 MB of RAM with 512 MB of internal storage.
Other features of the Firefox mobile OS handset include a microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB of extra storage, dual-band Wireless N, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR connectivity, together with a 3.2MP camera on the back, stereo FM radio, and a Li-ion 1200 mAh battery.
ZTE has stated that only limited number of devices were planned to be sold on eBay and there are no set date when sales will resume in the U.S. and UK.
