Luxera SmartSwitch Kit Includes Green LED Lighting and a Dimmer

It’s nice to see that the prices for a lot of LED bulbs out there are coming down in price to the point where people are willing to spend the money on buying green lighting. A company called Luxera has announced a new LED lighting kit that includes bulbs, a smartphone control app, and a dimmer that works with LED bulbs. LED bulbs don’t always work with normal dimmer switches.

The Luxera SmartSwitch kit includes a special dimmer made specifically for LED lighting. The company says that the dimmer won’t cause flicker at any point in the dimming range. One potential downside to the system is that the dimmer has a strange look with a large rotary knob. It also doesn’t look like it would work in a room where multiple switches are in one switch plate.
The kit also includes four PAR30 LED bulbs. The bulbs are 75W incandescent replacements. The Luxera Control mobile app is also included and can be downloaded at no cost from the App Store. The entire kit sells for $199.95 and includes free shipping. There is no mention of a control app for Android users.

Fujitsu Q584 Tablet Is Hitting The US For $1,499

In Japan Fujitsu is a big name in the tablet market. Not so much in the US. Well, that is about to change since Fujitsu’s Q584 Windows tablet will be headed to the US where you can buy it for $1,499. As the price suggests, this isn’t a tablet designed for the average consumer. It is geared toward working professionals.

The tablet is powered by Intel’s 4th generation Core processor and will have a Full HD 1080p LED display. It also comes with an Intel HD 4000 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD. Apparently it will dual boot Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8.1 Pro, so the choice of OS is yours to decide. You’ll want to use whatever suits your current task the best. It’s nice to have options after all.

This tablet will include the usual connectivity options, like NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi, and will come with accessories like a keyboard docking station and a keyboard cover. This tablet is for the professional as I said, so it will also come packing an integrated TPM chip, a fingerprint scanner and pen input compatibility. If you like those specs you may want to give this one a chance.
