New Linksys MIMO Routers Unveiled At CES 2016
unveiled two new additions to their range of MIMO routers, with the unveiling of the high-end AC5400 which will be available in April of this year priced at $400.
The Linksys MIMO AC5400 router is a tri-band, 1000 Mbps at 2.4 Ghz, 2166 Mbps at 5 Ghz and 2166 Mbps at 5 GHz 802.11ac device but is equipped with a massive eight and is and nine Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing it to share data speeds of up to 5.3 Gbps.
On the other end of the scale the entry-level Linksys MIMO AC1900 router is priced at $200 and will be available in February 2016 providing users with an 802.11ac router offering dual bands at 1300 Mbps at 5 GHz and 600 Mbps at 2.4 Ghz. The AC1900 router provides for Gigabit Ethernet ports together with two USB 300 ports.
Both of the new routers unveiled during CES this week MU-MIMO (multiuser, multiple input, multiple output) which create dedicated data streams to supported hardware. Linksys also unveiled a new USB Dongle in the form of an AC1900 MU-MIMO adapter That will be available during the spring of 2016 priced at $60.
