Lenovo Golden Warrior launches July 18th
Lenovo has announced that the Lenovo Golden Warrior handset will
first be made available to Weibo members for a special price of $32,
starting at 10am on July 14th. If you can’t take advantage of this
special offer, fear not, the Golden Warrior will be available from
on-line retailer JD.com on July 18th. The version for China Mobile will
cost 798 Yuan ($129 USD) while the model for China Unicom will be 898
Yuan ($145 USD). Both versions offer 4G LTE connectivity. That’s not bad
at all.
The Lenovo Golden Warrior is powered by the true octa-core MT-6592 CPU processor from MediaTek, running at 1.7GHz, and also has the Mali-450 MP4 GPU. It has a 5 inch IPS display with resolution of 720 x 1280, 2GB of RAM with 16GB of native storage, and a 32GB capacity microSD slot if you need extra memory. The back and front-facing cameras are 13MP and 5MP and Android 4.4 comes pre-installed.
This model is another of the value-priced handsets that are currently coming out of China. You get the MT-6592 octa-core chip, but sacrifice a bit with a 720p resolution on the 5 inch screen. All things considered, this device seems like a great deal, whether you are a Weibo subscriber or not.
