Evena Eyes-On Smart Glasses Allow Doctors To Look Under The Skin
Evena Medical has this week unveiled a new device in the form of the
Evena Eyes-On smart glasses which have been designed to enable nurses
and doctors to see through a patients skin.
The Evena Eyes-On smart glasses allow users to be able to see clearly veins underneath a patients skin and enable them to choose the “best” vein for whatever reason they need. Whether to give an injection or connect a drip , watch the video after the jump to learn more.
The technology to look underneath a patient’s skin has been available for some time but until now has been only in the form of a bulky machine which could not be manoeuvred very easily from patient to patient. The Evena Eyes-On device is equipped with a belt mounted computer and battery pack allow the device to be portable.
The new glasses now provides doctors and nurses with a portable solution that makes the whole process much more user-friendly for both the patient and the doctor or nurse. Frank Ball, Evena Medical President and CEO explained :
“Studies have shown that up to 40 percent of IV starts require multiple attempts to locate and access a vein, which not only wastes valuable nursing time but also delays therapy and causes patient discomfort and dissatisfaction,”-“With Evena’s Eyes-On Glasses, nurses can quickly and easily locate and access the best veins for each patient – even in challenging clinical environments such as pediatric or neonatal units.”
