Ashford Castle Hotel in Ireland

Everybody knows that Scotland and Ireland are full of castles, robust and charming remnants of the days passed. They are historical places and monuments, but many of them are still used as residence or … hotels. I can only imagine the beauty of the landscape with a gray stone castle in the background and the tourists enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace of old building. Well, I’m not the only one charmed by these attractions and thousands of tourists come to visit the Ashford Castle Hotel  in Ireland, which is the perfect representative for them all.

The history of this castle/hotel goes back in 1228, when it was founded by a noble family called De Burgo, of Anglo-Saxon origins. Now the castle is a hotel, but the interior is just as attractive as the exterior, as you will see big and luxurious suites, rooms and halls and many people from the surrounding area come there for a gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception. All the rooms keep the original features, but also benefit from the modern equipment that makes the accommodation there really pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are decorated in Victorian style and the authenticity of the place is felt in every detail. There are original paintings on the walls and the furniture is all made of wood, with nice wooden decorations. The ceilings are high and the rooms very spacious, the guests having all the comfort they can want. Everything makes you believe you traveled in time, but brought all the benefits of the modern era with you.
