| The 50x optical zoom lens on the new SX50 HS has an exceptionally
long range. It will help you zero-in on shots that would otherwise be
too distant to accurately capture, and a built-in optical image
stabilizer helps to keep images steady. This can be very useful for
shooting sporting events and stage shows, especially when you can’t get
as close to the action as you’d like. The LCD screen features a
resolution of 461,000 dots and provides approximately 100% coverage. A
dedicated button is provided for shooting movies, and you can still zoom
in and out while you’re rolling. An HDMI output is provided for
connecting the SX50 HS directly to your TV. There are many automated features on the SX50 HS that make it easy to take precise-looking stills and videos. Its Smart AUTO mode adjusts the camera settings for you. It has the ability to identify faces and keep the parameters continually optimized on the people in the frame. An Intelligent IS feature automatically chooses the best possible modes for image stabilization. A built-in flash is provided, and you can attach a more powerful Speedlite flash to its built-in hot shoe.
