Bridgestone revealed its second generation Air Free Concept (Non-Pneumatic) Tire at the 43 Tokyo Motor Show 2013 this week and has been created to provide both an environmental design and driving performance.

The new Bridgestone Airless-Tires pictured above have been designed with special shape spokes that stretched around the tire sides to support the load and require no air whats-so-ever to function.

The Bridgestone Airless-Tires spokes are constructed from a thermoplastic resin combined with a rubber tread. All materials used in the Bridgestone Airless-Tires are recyclable and offer extremely low rolling resistance.

“The second generation of Air Free Concept tire has increased versatility through improved load-bearing capabilities and driving compared with the first generation. High-speed travel (maximum 60 km/h) in ultralight vehicles has also become possible.”
